Where to begin with this beautiful wedding at the Lodge on Loch Goil…it was so incredibly beautiful and no words can really come close to explaining just how perfect Lynsay and Ken’s day was! The sun was shining, it was warm and I mean who does not feel extra amazing when that happens in Scotland? especially on your wedding day?!
Let’s go back in time a little as you may remember these two from their amazing styled engagement shoot in Glen Etive! If not have a peek here! Again such a beautiful sunny day for them which couldn’t of been any more perfect as we had a little picnic area set up for them with tasty treats from Suzanne Esper Cakes!
When Lynsay and Ken’s enquiry first came through we knew it would be rather special which it was! I mean a venue with a tree house is EPIC enough but with that setting it just goes above and beyond your usual epicness! Getting ready for your big day with that view is bound to relax you instantly and set you up for your day perfectly!
Lynsay and Ken started off their day with door games and a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Door games are a fun tradition in Chinese culture. The bridesmaids hide the bride from the groom and the groom with the help of his groomsmen must work and earn to be allowed in to see his bride. Have a peek here for chinese wedding door games ideas! Once Ken was allowed in to see Lynsay they all headed downstairs for a traditional tea ceremony which is the most significant even at a Chinese wedding. This is when the bride is formally “introduced” to the grooms family on the wedding day as this is when the most family members are together in one place. Here is a great guide to the specifics!
Following the traditional part of the day they immediately followed it up with the western ceremony which was so incredibly romantic and picturesque with the view of the tree house and Loch Goil. To also have this setting for their photos was incredible! It was hard for us to control our excitement and we hope we did the setting justice as it really is that beautiful! Not only is it a beautiful place to make vows to one another but the staff are so welcoming and lovely which I feel also adds to the whole experience. If staff are amazing to the suppliers you can only imagine how amazing they are to their clients! and the food!!! WOW!
As they were doing both ceremonies in the same day we headed back to Glasgow’s China Town for the chinese banquet meal. This meant we were able to do a pit stop in Rest and be Thankful for a few quick photos!!
Scott and I have to say a huge thank you to Lynsay and Ken’s family for welcoming us on the day! We had such a great time with you all! Wishing you both a lot of joy, laughter, love and happiness!!!
