Destination wedding photographers Scotland and Cyprus. Also have a look at our Italian destination wedding here!
Pauline and Paul had originally booked us for their wedding in Glasgow but these 2 amazing crazies decided to change it up and have their wedding in Cyprus!!! and we got to go and photograph it! We travel internationally to do weddings doing most of them in Italy so was pretty exciting to add a new destination to our list. It was in June…and it was crazy hot but this is how it went down…
I started by asking Pauline a few questions
“Cyprus because my family spend a lot of time there. My gran and papa lived there when my mum and three sisters were little as my papa was in the army. My papa was a bit part of my life, more like my dad and brought me up. He passed away three years ago in October 2011, he was supposed to walk me down the aisle. When we went out for our cherish the dress shoot…it was right next to the army base where my papa worked and spent a lot of time. They lived there for about three years and loved it, went back all the time for family holidays etc til my papa became ill. It held so many happy times and memories for him so I felt like I was closer to him there. Cyprus was also my first ever holiday abroad with my gran to the exact hotel we got married in when I was 12! Lol been done up since then but I can always remember being fascinated with the island and loved all the stories my papa used to tell me and my gran showed me a few places he spoke about. Love the island and love the memories”
What were some of the most special moments on the day?
“Most special part of the day for me was walking back down the aisle as husband and wife, holding Paul’s hand with the lumineers “hey ho” playing in the background and I particularly remember the words “so show me family” of that song and looking round to see everyone with tears in their eyes and big smiles on their faces…priceless! Also loved going away to location for photos, letting it all sink in that we were married and enjoying the beautiful landscape and having some of the first moments captured. (I think you can totally tell in those pics that we had relaxed). Also, Scott trying to pile me into the car with that dress on and holding my bouquet!”
