A beautiful Scottish/Swedish wedding at Drumtochty Castle
I don’t think Caryn & Jon could have found a more perfect and breathtaking venue for their guests coming from abroad. Drumtochty Castle with its neo-gothic romantic style as if it was plucked right out of a fairytale book is impressive to anyone who comes upon it. Not only on the outside but once you walk in you are greeted to so much opulence, beautiful architecture, tall stain glass windows and so much more. Every room you walk into is different and has its own character.
Not only is the castle breathtaking but the location, amongst a woodland glen and with its own pond gives couples the opportunity for many different backdrops for their photographs. In addition to this the estate also has its own fairytale-like church. St Palladius church in its setting is so charming and I always love capturing guests walking up to it down the long path and it makes the most PERFECT confetti aisle.
Back to Caryn and Jon, as you can see from the picture below the weather was temperamental but the rain only came at the right time meaning the sun peaked through the clouds during the reception outside after the ceremony and we had the most beautiful sparkly golden hour!
Here are three things we loved about their wedding day!
- The look on Jon’s face for Caryn as she met him at the top of the Aisle. I mean…just scroll down to see
- THAT ARCH!!! It was something else. Could not stop taking photos of it. We love being surprised by these beautiful details to photograph.
- As mentioned above the clouds cleared to make way for the most beautiful golden hour. Also, because it had just rained the light made the leaves and paths sparkle.
Here is a list of all the wonderful suppliers used on the day.
