A sunny stylish wedding at The Cruin
Style style style for days on the blog today. From the colour scheme to the dress, the florals, makeup and kilts… the list goes on! Including an amazing leather jacket which was hand painted at the back. We LOVE a bride in a leather jacket.
Along with tons of style, the sunshine came out to play which is always a plus in a country where the rain is a part of everyday life. It could not have been more perfect with the beautiful lochside setting The Cruin has with views across Loch Lomond.
As guests arrived and Barry looking smart in his bespoke Kilt Attire greeted them, Laura was slipping into her beautiful Rara Avis wedding gown and finishing up her look with Charlotte Mills shoes, a floral head wreath and a beautiful bouquet.
Laura’s favourite colour is purple which tied in well with this year ultraviolet Pantone colour. In fact, Barry had three different coloured buttons put on his jacket to represent Laura, his mom and his gran’s favourite colours. Such an incredibly thoughtful touch. In addition to this, the number of buttons on his jacket represented the date of the wedding. A man who thinks this way is definitely a keeper!
There were so many beautiful moments to their day as there are for all weddings we photograph. Here were some of our favourite ones!
- Clapping eyes on that incredible floral arch by the fabulous Mood Flowers!
- The ceremony. Beautiful setting, we had cloud coverage for most of it and Ian Miller is such an enthusiastic man who always throws in-jokes for good measure.
- Guests enjoying the weather and the beautiful location. There was something quite peaceful and so enjoyable about it.
- Barry’s grandad who was quite unwell the week before the wedding saying grace before the wedding breakfast. Not a dry eye in the room.
Last but not least as mentioned in previous blogs we often split photo sessions into two during summer months. It gives us the chance to get different light and a different feel between both sessions. Evening photo sessions are super laid back and are often a good time to change up your look a bit. Laura changed her floral crown for a jewelled bespoke crown and a bespoke leather jacket. Barry took off his kilt jacket to reveal an awesome vest with a peacock design to it. Did I mention these two have style?! Loved it!
Finally, we have listed their chosen suppliers at the end of the blog. For now, enjoy a slideshow we have made up for them and a selection of our favourite photos.
