Ashley and Craig married on an incredibly sunny and beautiful day at the Fruit Market in the Merchant City. Couldn’t of been a better day for the location of this wedding! We were really looking forward to it being our first time at this venue after our chats with them during their engagement shoot…which you can check out here! Spent a lovely afternoon at theirs capturing some photos and having a good gab about the plans for the big day.
When the day came along we were so happy the sun was shining as there are so many amazing spots for photos in the Merchant City and the walk from the hotel to the venue itself wouldn’t of been the same in rain. I loved the selfie Ashley’s piper (her cousin) decided to take of all of them! Ashley & Craig were surrounded by a close knit group of family and friends which came very apparent to us that they are from big families which is a crazy lot of fun! Reminded me of mine so was lovely to capture behind the lens.
I asked them a few questions and here is how they answered!
How did Craig propose?
“Craig proposed whilst we were on holiday in Mexico on the 15th of July 2013. We were walking along the beach and he got down on one knee when I had turned my back to look at something”
How did the planning process go?
“Planning process was halted slightly by the choice of venue as the Old Fruitmarket can only confirm 9 months in advance due to the BBC symphony orchestra using the building for rehearsals. Once we had the date confirmed it was actually not too bad. Although we did book our band before having venue confirmed as we were scared we might not get them, luckily we got the date we wanted!
I am normally so organised with everything and my mum not so much, but for some reason I was more relaxed when it came to the wedding and my mum sprung into action! Haha!”
