Starting off the blogging quietness with Hannah + Christopher’s springtime Glasgow wedding.
Hannah and Christopher got married at one of our favourite venues, Pollokshields Burgh Halls! It suited them to a tee. It was clear from chatting with them that the day would stay true to who they are as individuals and as a couple. For example, Hannah wore a beautiful skirt from Coast and had a friend make the top to go with it. LOVED IT! She was also able to show off those amazing Irregular Choice shoes with it.
The day started off at Fraser Suites in the Merchant City where I (Chantal) met up with the girls during the morning preparations. It gave me the chance to capture those quirky details which made the look of this wedding so unique. The morning also always gives me a chance to get to know the girls and parents which is a great start to making everyone feel comfortable for photos. Makes me more relatable than just being that photographer. Why is this so important? Having a laid-back friendly photographer who is not shy to speak to your wedding party and invited guests means you will get more authentic and natural photos of the day.
Leading on from that, capturing those moments as a wedding photographer is so important. I loved the excitement on everyone’s faces, especially the groom when I walked into the ceremony before Hannah was to walk down the aisle. The look on his face when he spotted her was priceless and these moments always remind me of just how lucky I am to be able to witness these moments. Makes you feel so happy knowing that people are getting together to celebrate love, and love simply rocks!
