Absolutely adored Lisa and Robert’s Wedderburn Barns wedding. Springtime in Scotland can be so beautiful and their wedding day was no exception. Also, you can’t beat a wedding where the couple brings their dog!

The day started off with the bridal preps in a beautiful B&B just outside of Kelso. Lisa’s dad loves rivers so it really was a perfect setting for the whole family and bridal party to get ready. With those fields of yellow and the river running through it really had a soothing and calming effect.

The wedding itself took place at Wedderburn Barns. Lisa and Robert loved it as it offered a blank canvas that really appealed to them in terms of putting their own stamp on their wedding day. They loved the courtyard and barn and the surrounding setting. The touches they put in and around were absolutely beautiful! I loved the floral arrangements done by Stems and the whiskey bottles which served as a guide to where their guests would be sitting for the wedding breakfast. Waiters went around topping up prosecco and passing out canapé’s and there were aprons and chef’s hats on the seat of each person who was chosen to carve meat for guests around the table. What a fun and interactive way to get everyone involved, getting to know each other and chatting.

The touches were laid back and interactive with the lawn games dotted around the courtyard. This was very much in line with how Robert and Lisa are. From get-go go when we had them over for an initial chat they were so easy to get along with and found many common ground and things to chat about like our connection to Canada. Truly genuine human beings these two are! Makes the wedding day for us just as fun as fun for us. This is why we love getting to know our couples. Makes things personal instead of all business!
