A sunny springtime wedding at Oran Mor.
Scotland is a rather temperamental corner of the world weather-wise! Luckily Ashley and Craig were blessed with a summers day for their wedding. Walking through the Botanic Gardens we even had a passerby ask how they managed to book the sun so far in advance! With luck! that is all!
Ashley and Craig said their legal I Do’s the day before their wedding day at the Montrose Street Registry office. Scott captured this which you can have a peek at here. Again, lucking out with weather so loads of fun was had walking around the merchant city for photos.
I asked Ashley how it felt to have their wedding day after becoming husband and wife the day before and she said it was amazing as it felt like a whole weekend of wedding festivities which I totally agree with. Plus, it allowed one of their dearest friends to make their ceremony extra special and personal. I absolutely loved how they made their day about them and who they are individually and as a couple.
Which leads me on to Ashley’s music for walking down the aisle! Probably the coolest and most original entrance ever and it was timed perfectly! She walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “California Love” by 2Pac! I mean…how flipin’ awesome is that? I was a 90’s teenager so this girl is a girl after my own heart as the tunes playing all day were right up my street! It also just shows how well she knows herself and is not afraid to inject as much of her personality into her wedding day and by the look on Craig’s face all day he absolutely adores that about her.
What would you walk down the aisle to?
Feel free to comment on this post.
It seriously can be anything. Ask your string quartet if you have one or do some research into how you can get instrumental versions of the song you love the most. My brother and sister-in-law walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of some techno song they both fell in love with at some EDM party in Las Vegas. It was beautiful and I cried a lot walking down the aisle even though I had listened to it before to prevent the tears haha!
Going back this wedding. From the look on Craig and the guest’s faces, while Ashley walked towards him, it was clear that this was the right choice of music and it will be remembered.
Conclusion. BE YOURSELF. Don’t conform to things just because it’s a wedding and it “should” be done a certain way. Traditions don’t always need to be followed.
